national dance week

KANSAS CITY
National Dance Week Foundation’s mission is “To expose and introduce as many people as possible to the enjoyment and benefits of dance thru promoting dance in schools, expanding community awareness, and increasing professional development.”

National Dance Week Kansas City is an annual celebration of dance that brings together dancers of all ages, disciplines, and levels to present a day of free dance performances for the public. We are celebrating the joy of dance together, from studios to universities to professional companies to independent choreographers. Over 40 groups present their original works in genres including ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, aerial, Pushpunjali, Latino, Egyptian, Mongolian, Irish Step, salsa and bellydance.

VidaDance was the founding host company of National Dance Week Kansas City from 2017-2019. In 2019, the leadership of NDWKC was taken on by Jami Robben, one of our VidaDancers, who led the event to greater success from 2020-2022, before the event was eventually incorporated into the programming of Arts Inspired Network.
